Hello everyone and welcome back to yet another 205 Live review. Today’s episode sees a returning Drew Gulak face off against Akira Tozawa and a main event of Ariya Daivari vs Oney Lorcan. Without further ado, let’s get straight into this.

Drew Gulak vs Akira Tozawa

A match originally scheduled to be a clash between Akira Tozawa and Noam Dar, mid entrance, Gulak viciously attacked Dar, leaving him hurt outside the ring. Tozawa demanded that Drake Maverick give him a match against Gulak and that’s what happened. I for one am extremely happy that Gulak is back following a brief 205 Live hiatus and some brilliant NXT matches. Gulak & Tozawa are both excellent technically, with striking ability and agility. A great match up of relatively similar styles, this was done excellently and I really enjoyed the match. The end of the match came when Tozawa went to the top rope, looking for his brutal senton bomb only to be caught by Gulak who delivers a massive superplex. Gulak finishes Tozawa off with an Argentine cutter and that’s all she wrote (@13:50). Gulak is victorious on his return to 205 Live and after his hiatus following his loss to Tony Nese, I really hope WWE can finally do something right with Gulak as I still believe he is one of the most talented wrestlers in the company.

Ariya Daivari vs Oney Lorcan

Two hard-hitters and technically proficient men, this was a solid match. I wouldn’t say either man put on a ‘wowing’ performance within the match but these two put on a really good showing as two of the top stars in 205 Live today. With Daivari in control for a majority of the match, he heads to the top rope and connects with a frog splash only to be caught into a cradle by Lorcan… 1, 2, 3 (@15:40). Lorcan is victorious in this match and I reckon that’s the right call. Very solid work from both men and the fall doesn’t take away any of Daivari’s momentum which he has garnered for himself over the past few months. Good stuff and a good way to end this episode of 205 Live.
