WWE NXT UK Review by Ryan Cooper Bielby

Pro Wrestling Journal

Episode 50, July 3rd

The show kicks off with a package explaining how the main event came to be, it’s a rematch for the NXT UK Tag Team Championships between current champions Grizzled Young Veterans against Moustache Mountain. This show is also in the Download Festival with Vic being joined by Aidan English again.

Rhea Ripley storms her way to the ring demanding for Piper Neven in a 1 v 1 match and she gets the match wanting to see who’s more superior. Rhea appears to have more of a advantage through out the match. Rhea makes the decision to slap Piper explaining that Piper is nothing. Piper comes out the winner against Rhea in a intense match.

Kenny Williams gets in a interview but gets attacked by Noam Dar. The match that follows is Jack Stars vs Alexander Wolfe, which is Wolfe’s first match representing Imperium. Jack Stars surprisingly puts up a good defensive against Wolfe, unfortunately for Jack Stars Alexander Wolfe manages to pick up a dominant victory.

Gallus says that they will easily destroy The Hunt and Dave Mastif. The next segment is a 2 V 1 Jazzy Gabert against Mercedes and Dani Luna but as predictable as ever Jazzy dominates. The show continues with a promo by Kassius Ohno  essentially saying Mark Andrews is a disgrace and that Kassius himself is the best British Wrestler.

The main event as mentioned is Grizzled Young Veterans defending their titles against Moustache Mountain here I’ll sum up the match but I urge you to watch this as these are two amazing teams. The match begins with Tyler Bate and Zach Gibson. Both teams keeping their teams fresh with often tags in the beginning. GYV keep vast control of Seven with lots of offensive moves. I’m considering doing two short reviews of Mark Andrews and James Drake. GYV keep being sneaky through the match by trying to divide Moustache Mountain in any way possible.

Massive moves are performed through out the match and while the match was enjoyable it’s a shame Imperium interfered in the match. Imperium handcuffs Trent Seven while Walter proceeded to powerbomb Tyler Bate on the apron and against the ring post with no sign of Pete Dunn strangely enough. Overall good show I’d recommend watching it for sure.
