So the Kamikaze Pro Live reached their twentieth show, and a packed out Cadbury Club were there to witness what was a fun filled afternoon as the Kamikaze Pro trainees were given another chance to shine and show the viewing public just how far they have come during their training. For me personally attending this show was touch and go as I returned from holiday just two hours prior, thankfully I made it and these are my thoughts:

The show itself started a little after the official show start time which of course to my benefit and the opener was indeed a treat! Local veteran Lee Hunter faced George Lydon, a relatively new member of the Kamikaze Pro Live ranks and this match really delivered and set a high standard to begin with. Hunter really helped Lydon through this match and made Lydon stand out as a real future prospect. Fast paced and full of energy this is how to open a show and have the crowd invested as Hunter had to pull everything from his veteran arsenal to put young Lydon away. Lydon hitting a lot of hope spots and at times having the crowd believing a possible upset may be on the cards as he had several near falls on Hunter, who to his credit allowed Lydon to keep up with him. Hunter did get the win finishing off Lydon with a Tombstone Piledriver, however this performance gave Lydon the match he needed and hopefully good things start to come his way.

Following on from the opener White Tiger took on Hassan Ali, himself sporting a new hair colour in what was a match that Ali struggled to find his feet against the agile White Tiger. Ali wrestled a powerful style that he struggled to obtain against a man of White Tiger’s size and at times struggled to perform the power moves he so desperately wanted to do. Tiger’s more fast paced style would have been better countered by a more brawling style, keeping the Tiger mat based. Ali worked hard but this was a win for White Tiger, who to his credit tried to keep Ali in the match.

Jack Carny is somewhat my guilty pleasure! Good entrance from that clown which had a youngster from the crowd running out of the room, which I guess makes his gimmick work albeit somewhat creepy as he faced the youngest ever graduate from the Kamikaze Pro dojo, the Kamikaze Kid! Full credit to Carny who put the Kid over big time, carrying the youngster through the match, which itself was what it was, a custard pie was involved and the Kamikaze Kid rolled up Carny for his maiden win!

Tag team action followed as two members of unit ‘Second to none’ namely Hammer Heeley and Lucia Lee faced Kamikaze’s favourite ‘loser’ Alan Carter and newcomer Samuel Hughes. This was a good tag match which suited Carter, he looked better being part of a duo alongside Hughes who to be fair was impressive considering this was his official match debut as he had previously been in a roulette rumble match, and the crowd were firmly behind the pair. The second to none pairing took to cutting corners as much as possible, usual referee distractions as Carter and Hughes fought from underneath, Carter taking the beating with Hughes unleashing after Carter had found the hot tag! The Hammer did come into play and this gave the Second to none pairing the win which helped them gain more heat and unfortunately Carter still cannot find a win, just imagine the reaction when he does!!!

Second half main event saw Man Like Dereiss squaring up against the ever rising star that is Ender Kara. This match was terrific, two guys really hitting their stride as Dereiss, sublime and crisp beat down on poor Kara for a lot of the match which saw Kara bumping like a trooper and was so good at taking anything Dereiss threw at him, eventually finding those hope spots, using his pace and countering Dereiss’s moveset with polished counter attacks that really had this match at another level. Dereiss got the win here but nobody lost, crowd loved it and we have two stars that will keep Britwres alive. Big reaction from the crowd for Ender Kara post match which he appreciated as the show headed to the interval.

Interval done and Luke Douglas awaited Kay Jutler for his match only for Jutler to attack him from behind. This then proceeded to go round the room with Douglas falling victim to many outside bumps; he takes them so well as Jutler’s only intention seemed to be hurting the former Pro Live champion. Good opener to the second half which ended with Douglas being disqualified for using a chair on Jutler which seemed a little ironic at the time after both had fought all over the room using any props available and not facing a DQ! Although I never actually heard a bell ring until the match end! Very enjoyable none the least.

The ‘Second to None’ unit were up again as their other pairing of MJ Grayson and Luka were up against Danny Reid and Keiran Mcqueen. Looking at the ring this seemed quite the mis-match, size wise that is and that to be fair was the focus of the match with Grayson and Luka dominating their opponents for a lengthy part of the match and were quite the formidable tag team, they looked good throughout, playing to the crowd who were firmly behind McQueen and Reid and this enabled several hope spots with both looking good as a tag team. This was the night for the ‘Second to None’ unit as Grayson and Luka put away their opponents and following the win they continued to beat down on them as the rest of the unit joined in to help show unit domination with Alan Carter’s and Samuel Hughes’s interference being no help either!

An announcement followed with the news of ‘Niwa’ not being able to make the show which meant no match for Sean Devine! Taking exception Devine insisted on entering the Kamikaze Pro raffle and then proceeded to win! Cries of fix followed with Devine not

wanting the winning tickets for the next show, as he will already be there, hopefully in a match this time so insisted on a kiss from guests Millie McKenzie and Charli Evans but ended getting a smacker from Colin! Great fun, loved the segment and Sean Devine was great!

Main event followed as Kamikaze Pro Live champion Chantal Jordan defended her title against Elliott Jordan who not only carried his own Relentless Division title belt, but also Chantal’s Pro Live belt. This was a class main event with Jordan enjoying banter with the crowd as he tried to belittle Chantal who in return continued to improve once again on this show, showing some inventiveness, bringing in some new, clever moves that are continually adding to her offence and what was even better for me was this match stayed inside the ring. Both delivered a really good title match, no brawling around the room with the only interference coming from ‘Bled’ stable mate Luke Douglas which only helped Jordan who successfully defended her title. Great match between two standout stars that simply know what to do!

Unfortunately I was not able to stay for the whole of the Roulette Rumble which finished off the show! The match itself was, ironically won by Sean Devine who, not even having his proposed singles match with Niwa ended up having one of his luckiest nights ever! A title match with Chantal beckons going forward.

Great night, terrific show, a lot of fun, please check out this promotion.
