Keith Lee vs Kona Reeves

I thought this was going to be an easy squash for Lee but the match was actually competitive. Lee is great, we already know that, but we can’t take anything away from Reeves. He’s starting to get his feet under him and it’s been showing in his latest matches. I think Lee is primed for success, but I want to see how far Reeves can go as well. Also the crowd was super into the match and that always makes it better.

Winner: Keith Lee

Grade: B

Mia Yim vs Bianca Belair

This was definitely the best match out of the series between these two. Yim and Belair brought absolutely everything to this match and it was superb. These two have a lot of chemistry together and have gelled over the course of their matches. I think they benefited from each other in-ring as well. Yim’s genuine emotion at the end of the match only elevated it further. I think both women have championship potential as well.

Winner: Mia Yim

Takeover 25

We saw highlights from Takeover 25 throughout the episode. I actually like that NXT shows actual footage as opposed to just stills. It makes the highlights more impactful in my opinion. But at the same time, NXT has a tendency to oversaturate the following episode with highlights. Most of us watch the Takeovers so we have seen this.

Grade: B+

Final Thoughts

This week was mostly a recap episode for Takeover 25. We got two matches and a few more announced for next week, but not much else. I don’t mind light viewing every now and then so I’m not upset about it.

Overall Grade: B+
