Mia Yim vs Bianca Belair

There were dueling chants for both women so that was cool. Yim and Belair showed a lot of strength and athleticism here, along with an expected healthy dose of trash talk. There was a fun ending sequence with several near-falls until Belair used the ropes in order to secure the win. While the match wasn’t bad by any means, I expected more from these two so I was a little disappointed.

Winner: Bianca Belair

CCTV Footage

We saw the Viking Raiders trying to leave after a workout and they got jumped by the Forgotten Sons. Also they’re going to be back next next week to talk about their NXT future. This was a fun little snippet. Are the Sons being set up for a title shot?

Performance Center Chaos

The MMA Horsewomen were working in one of the PC rings and Io Shirai attacked Shayna Baszler. It took other wrestlers and William Regal to pull the two apart. I’m digging the fact that they just attack each other. I can’t wait to see a one-on-one match between Shirai and Baszler!

Raul Mendoza vs Riddick Moss

I’m glad that Moss as recovered from his Achilles tendon tear, but his “Riddick Regime” gimmick fell a little flat here. It definitely has potential, but it just didn’t click tonight. By comparison, Mendoza was much more entertaining. The match itself was standard and didn’t have too many bells or whistles.

Winner: Raul Mendoza

Grade: C

Adam Cole vs Matt Riddle

This match was a fantastic follow-up to the heated confrontation between Cole and Riddle last week. Riddle was able to physically manhandle Cole, but Cole was no slouch. My personal favorite part of the match was when Riddle countered Cole’s superkick with an ankle lock. Despite Roderick Strong’s efforts to help, the Bromission sealed the deal. There were even more hostilities between Cole and Strong with Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish playing peacekeepers. The cracks in the Undisputed Era are getting bigger and this eventual breakup is going to need to have a huge payoff and this is one of the most popular factions in NXT.

Winner: Matt Riddle

Grade: A+

Final Thoughts

All in all, this was a solid episode of NXT. The main event was spectacular and is really doing a good job with Undisputed Era’s storytelling. I definitely want another Belair and Yim match though.
