This is my first time trying this but here goes.

The 5th of December edition of 205 Live was kicked off with a very long video package, showing us the Gulak vs Kendrick rivalry, last week’s main event & this week’s main event, Lucha House Party vs Mike Kanellis & TJP.

Drew Gulak vs ‘The’ Brian Kendrick

The first match of the night was a pretty decent, wrestling fundamentals-based match in which Kendrick was the underdog. Throughout the match, Gulak focused on attacking Kendrick’s leg which was ‘injured’ by Akira Tozawa a couple months prior. A few notable spots in this match, Gulak hit a powerbomb followed up by a single-legged boston crab & Kendrick nailed Gulak with a beautiful straight-jacket german suplex with a bridge. The match ended when Jack Gallagher broke up the pin off of a sliced bread #2, subsequently giving Kendrick the win via DQ. After the match, Gallagher continued the beatdown, fought of Akira Tozawa and this match ended with Gulak and Gallagher raising their arms in what was a decent outing for both of them.

Buddy Murphy & Drake Maverick segment

Erm. Well, this segment was basically just announcing Cedric Alexander vs Buddy Murphy. A bit of ego-boosting for Murphy but there wasn’t much else to this segment other than two lads sitting down having a nice chat. Meh.

Ariya Daivari vs Clay Roberts

In a return match for Daivari, he squashed Roberts. The match consisted of Daivari beating the life out of Roberts and finishing up with a bunch of hammerlock lariats. The referee has to call the match by stoppage, Daivari wins. After the match, the camera switched to the backstage area. Cedric Alexander boasted about how he doesn’t need Mustafa Ali and how he’s going to beat Buddy Murphy. After Alexander was done, we swapped to ‘phone footage’ of Noam Dar calling out Buddy Murphy for a match, that should be good.

Lucha House Party vs Mike Kanellis & TJP (Tornado Tag)

Now, it’s time for the main event. This match was absolutely crazy. All of these men took it to each other. There are several spots I could mention here, I guess I’ll try and pick some of my favourites. Kalisto delivered a splash assisted by Dorado early on, Dorado took out both Kanellis & TJP with a crossbody to the outside, Kanellis hit Dorado with a beautiful spinebuster on the outside, Kalisto delivered a top-rope-rana on TJP which took out Kanellis in the process and finally, Kalisto & Dorado hit TJP with a double suplex onto a bunch of mini-pinatas. The match ended with a salida-del-sol & a beautiful shooting star press. Dorado pins TJP. Great, fast-paced, chaotic match to end the night.

This was a relatively average episode of 205 Live by their usual shows but I loved the main event. I’m not sure how to rate this exactly but with two solid matches I’d say this week’s show deserves a 6.5, maybe 7/10.
