Heir To The Throne Ladder Match (Winner receives a future King of Chaos Title Match) James Drake def. Elijah, Nathan Bane, Lk Mezinger, Flash Morgan Webster, Danny Jones & Matt Horgan

Personally, I’m not a fan of multi-man ladder matches, there is too much down time between big spots and wrestlers can be seen waiting at ringside for their moment, I feel it takes away from the match. This did however deliver enough excitement and suspense, the inclusion of two factions making up the numbers took away from the winner being a surprise, it was going to be either Flash or Drake from the get go. Every competitor seemed to have their moment, the ladder spots looked dangerous and very hard hitting, there were sure to be some sore bodies come Sunday morning. No one individual stood out from the rest, The Brotherhood had the advantage throughout the contest, Modern Culture looked one step behind at all times and were often overpowered. The feud between the two groups is sure to have one more match, it feels unsettled and needs bookending. Overall a fun, exciting match.

GM for the evening Jeff Jarrett made his first appearance, he declared that he had found Big Grizzly a worthy opponent and introduced one half of CCK Chris Brookes

Big Grizzly def. Chris Brookes

Unfortunately, without Lykos on the apron or patrolling ringside Chris Brookes seemed lost at sea, plus half the audience seemed indifferent to his surprise appearance. The match was passable, it came across awkward in places and slow paced. Big Grizzly as champion isn’t clicking yet, it seems as if he hasn’t expanded his gimmick/character since winning the title, he has a good following and people do like him, he just doesn’t come across as a dominant big man. With this match taking place early on I felt it downgraded Grizz being champion, Brookes just wasn’t the surprise people were expecting, the action in ring was okay, Chris was the aggressor early on before Grizz took over via the power game. This was a by the numbers singles match, there was more to look forward to and better matches on offer later on the card.

Mark Haskins def. Beano

This was match of the night, Beano who felt cheated by Haskins last month was looking for a little retribution, and he would unfortunately not get it. Mark Haskins put the Chaos roster on notice Saturday night and was the MVP again, he stole the show and for the majority of the contest dominated Beano. The in-ring action was unrelenting, Haskins battered Beano with everything in his arsenal, and the plucky Newport native did mount several comebacks but was unsuccessful. As good as Beano is and will become he looked second rate (as per the booking of the match) to Mark Haskins, it wasn’t meant to be that way but Haskins was spectacular, just give this man the briefcase and King of Chaos title. Haskins aside, Beano looked good in his offence, he got his spots in when it mattered and frustrated his opponent, he selling was impeccable, the match and offence from Haskins looked so legit. As stated this was easily the match of the night, Haskins win was tainted as he secured it via low blow, which protected Beano and left the door open for a rematch. Flawless.

Knights of Chaos Tag Team No1 Contenders Match

Lucha Bad (El Ligero/Kip Sabian) def. Mike Bird/Drew Parker

This was very good, Lucha Bad made their debut and scored a big win over the former Tag Team Champions, the match was fast paced with Kip and Ligero providing the best moments. The team of Bird and Parker were unable to muster that winning formula, which allowed Lucha Bad to get the upper-hand. As good as they were Sabian and Ligero seemed to have two different strategies, Ligero was playing by the rules but Sabian was looking for every shortcut imaginable. The teamwork between both teams was excellent, Mike Bird always puts in a shift and was no different here, and Drew also is coming along nicely and improving greatly with each performance. With happened post-match the eventual winners were Lucha Bad with Kip stealing the win over Ligero and celebrating on his own, I’m sure there is much to come from this and the inevitable match with Crazy TeaCups should yield some great moments.

Post-match both Bird and Parker looked dejected, Mike attempted to help Parker to his feet but he shrugged it off. After a few more attempts, Parker lashed out and attacked Bird, leaving him lying on the mat. Drew then advised Bird to stay away from Pro Wrestling Chaos or face similar attacks, violence it seems it looming.

Sierra Loxton def. Wild Boar w/Kaggy

Without any real vignettes or promos, I am still struggling to find out why Boar/Kaggy are feuding with Sierra. The matches involving all three have been dramatic but fail to illicit any real meaning, I’m not against intergender matches but Sierra surviving Boar for longer than five minutes is laughable. The Boar/Kaggy tandem isn’t really getting either any further up the card, Sierra too isn’t benefitting from this feud. The finish was strange, Sierra pinned Boar, the referee counted two, Sierra left the ring, and then she was awarded the victory, all very confusing.

Cara Noir vs Gideon – No Contest

Cara Noir’s entrance lasted longer than the match, the bell I don’t think was rung. Noir blew dust into the face of Gideon, then proceeded to attack him. The referee called a no contest.

Crazy TeaCups (Charlie Sterling/Eddie Ryan) & Jinny def. Dick Riley, Sugar Dunkerton & Session Moth Martina

If you’re a comedy fan you would have most probably enjoyed this match, if not then you surely saw this as a waste of Sterling, Jinny and Dick Riley, three of the best members of the Chaos roster. To see Dick Riley sparingly used in this match was shocking, in January he stole the show with Will Ospreay, on Saturday he had a dance off. Without question Dick Riley has fallen from grace over the last few months, this man should be alongside Grizz, Eddie Dennis and others in the main event scene. Charlie Sterling is hugely talented and full of charisma, he is another who should be main eventing for the King of Chaos Title. Riley was my pick as the eventual HTTT winner this year, to see him miss out is criminal, he was only a bit part player. Sterling stole the show and overshadowed everyone with his antics, the man is money. This was pure comedy, it seemed to garner the reaction the match wanted and many accepted it.

I Quit Match – Loser Leaves Pro Wrestling Chaos, Eddie Dennis def. Alex Steele

Going in I was expecting an upset, but on reflection this match would have come sooner in the year if it wasn’t for the injury to Eddie Dennis. After nearly a year this was the blowout for this said feud, Eddie received the biggest ovation, in his first appearance since January the Pride of Wales was looking for payback, Alex entered to boo’s and abuse, the audience had sided with Eddie. The match was set up for an upset, due to Eddie recently signing with WWE and his push in Progress many assumed and speculated Alex would go over, however that would not be the case. Eddie was the aggressor, he looked in control and had Steele reeling, this match was pure carnage but every moment was relatable, Eddie was out for revenge against the jealous ex-partner. Steele played his role well, he was the embodiment of petulance, he wanted Eddie gone but unfortunately his time was up. Although many speculated over the finish, the match was built around Eddie Dennis, after six months out injured he needed to come back strong and better than ever, on Saturday he succeeded. The big spots worked well, a great moment was when Alex choked Eddie via the ring ropes that he had undone earlier in the match, and the suspense was great. As far as I Quit matches go this was one of the better ones, the match was booked well and the pace was steady, there was a very high tempo to this contest. Eddie Dennis was the rightful winner.

In a nice show of mutual respect Eddie and Alex shook hands following the decision. Keeping in character, Alex had to moan once more, Jarrett then again came out to sing a farewell song to him. The WWE Hall of Famer then gave us a rendition of “With my baby tonight”, the audience seemed to enjoy the finale.
