Show Opening: Chaos management opened the show with a few words, thanking all who have been involved and relating the atmosphere to that of family. Really nice words.

Jeckel announced he was injured, therefore Chief Dunne took his place.

Gideon & Chief Deputy Dunne def. The Hunter Brothers w/Kid Lykos

This was a very lively opening contest, and one that the audience were very much invested in. The action was slick, and there was a great back and forth between both teams as the match built to a frantic finale. The Hunter Brothers were as professional as ever, it was refreshing to see them play the heel role and they did it with great vigour. This was the best Gideon had looked this year, teaming with Dunne the two had a nice flow, the hard-hitting offence from Gideon and the fast-paced style of Chief Dunne produced some crowd-pleasing moments. The Hunters played the audience and their opponents well, when it was needed they bended the rules to great effect, add in the dastardly Kid Lykos and you have a dangerous alliance. With the assistance of Lykos the Hunters seemed to have the win in their crosshairs, however Jeckel came to the aid of tag partner Gideon and carried off the lone wolf, that then put the Hunter’s in peril. Gideon and Dunne took over and kicked off the evening with victory via a Codebreaker.

Maiden of Chaos Championship

Jinny © def. Shax

Jinny finally returned from injury to defend her title for the first time since January, looking a step slower than usual she struggled at times against the chirpy Shax. The challenger making her Chaos debut performed admirably but overall was outclassed by the more experienced Jinny. Jinny took control early on and looked dominant, Shax rallied several times but was unable to gain enough momentum to truly look like she could topple Jinny. As already stated, Jinny although the eventual winner looked a little out of touch, her approach was slower than usual and the pace was quite slow. The match did build momentum late on with a few false finishes, however Jinny soon found her groove and never looked like losing her grip on the title.

Matt Horgan def. Elijah

This was arguable the purest wrestling contest of the evening, both Matt Horgan and Elijah are wrestlers on the rise, Elijah for sure has had more exposure nationwide, but Horgan is on the up. Both were representing their respective stables, who later on in the contest got involved (annoyingly). I was personally happy that these two were chosen to compete, the match was fast paced, free flowing and technical, both are growing into good workers capable of competing for the biggest companies in the United Kingdom. Matt & Elijah were well matched, the put together a strong wrestling contest full of believable near falls which built towards the inevitable Brotherhood ambush. LK Mezinger was the first to makes his presence known, he distracted Horgan before Bane and Danny Jones joined the fight, to makes the odds even Flash Morgan Webster then made his way to the ring. The numbers were fair and the brawl commenced, I was sure this should have been a disqualification, the referee seemed to lose control. Once the intruders were clear Horan and Elijah went back at it. After the run in I expected an Elijah win but Matt regained control and hit a Belly to Back Piledriver.

Knights of Chaos Tag Team Championship Match

Crazy TeaCup (Charlie Sterling/Eddie Ryan) def. Kip Sabian/Martin Kirby & Mike Bird & Joey Ryan ©

The most entertaining match of the evening and arguably a shock win came from the Tag Team Title match. With Mike Bird’s tag partner (Drew Parker) unavailable, therefore he chose Joey Ryan as his temporary replacement, they defended against the dysfunctional team of Charlie Sterling and Eddie Ryan and the new team of Kip Sabian and Martin Kirby. The action was relentless, every competitor managed to have their moment and it produced an audience pleasing contest. As in every match and or segment he is in, Charlie Sterling was the match MVP, I can’t stress how good this man is, from his character, ring skills and overall approach to the sport, he should be King of Chaos, Sterling is MONEY! Aside from my adulation for Sterling, this was a thrilling contest, Bird, Sabian and Kirby looked really good and rounded off the match with their efforts, as expected Joey Ryan performed well and did his ‘DICK’ Shtick, it’s great…if you love that type of wrestling comedy. I didn’t see title change coming, Bird and Ryan looked like retaining before Sterling and Ryan kicked into gear and took control. A Superkick and Senton for the win.

5 Man Scramble Match

Mark Haskins def. Angelico, Chris Brookes, Dick Riley & Beano

Up next was for many the most anticipated contest of the evening, featuring a plethora of talent this was set to deliver, and deliver it did. My only gripe with this match is that it didn’t go ten minutes longer, because it needed it and without doubt it could have turned It from match of the night to match of the year. I was expecting Dick Riley to bounce back this month and win this one, however he looked the most non-involved, he wasn’t the main man for once and I think that hurt him. Angelico was another I felt didn’t live up to expectations, he’s talented for sure but his style was slower than I expected it to be for someone who worked for Lucha Underground. The most impressive was the on the rise Welsh native Beano, his Jnr Heavyweight style mix with a few power moves is very crowd pleasing and his natural face aura will see him go far. Chris Brookes and eventual winner Mark Haskins also performed very well, Brookes wasn’t as over as he usually is at Attack, which was a strange feeling. Haskins was a machine, he strong style, take no prisoners attitude was exciting to see, every movement was for a reason and he wasted little time in getting his spots in. The pace of the match was really good, the audience were invested and didn’t want it to end, unfortunately it did, just like that. Mark Haskins took the victory and walked out. Flawless.

Boar def Sierra Loxton

I was critical of Sierra’s in ring contributions at Jumpers for Ringpost in April, her performance against Tenille Dashwood left a lot to be desired. When this contest was announced I was intrigued, Boar is someone that she personally knows and is comfortable with, and it’s those she seems to work well with. This was Sierra’s best performance in a Chaos ring, she started with the upper hand by attacking Boar with a Kendo Stick as he made his way to ring. This set the standard, Sierra had the early offence before Boar rallied and fought back, he punished Sierra without remorse and he took over the contest. This was a strong showing from both, Sierra has still to define why she is freaky but against Boar she held her own, she looked strong, agile and powerful, this is the performer we all know she can be. Boar was as he has been this year amazing, as said in previous reviews this man took the time away from Chaos last year and returned a better competitor. Kaggy as always flanked her minion, when it seemed Boar was conflicted over what to do next, Kaggy screamed at him to get his head back in the game. He hoisted Sierra and hit the Trapper Keeper for the victory.

Eddie Dennis confronts Alex Steele

Alex Steele it seemed came to gloat once more, he however was quickly thwarted by Eddie Dennis. They brawled as Chaos staff rushed to the ring and the pulled the enemies apart. Eddie announced a return to in ring action on July 21st as he challenged Alex, who then replied that Eddie would have to put his career on the line, Eddie accepted.

King of Chaos Championship

Big Grizzly © def. Walter

We finally reached the hugely anticipated main event, Big Grizzly in his second title defence against the formidable Walter. This match ticked all the boxes, the only let down was the flat finish that did nothing for the quality of the match. The match was very good, the timing, pace, offence and audience reactions were perfect, Walter dominated for long periods and it exposed Grizzly. The King of Chaos did not disappoint but, against a seasoned Walter he seemed a little out of his depth. This was the first time I had witnessed Walter live and he lived up to expectations, this man truly is a monster. Grizz took a lot of punishment, Walter’s offence was scary, he hits like a freight train, Big Grizz did have his moments. The Champion does work well with big men, this was very reminiscent of his 2017 match with Keith Lee, he did hold his own at times and looked powerful. The audience were split as Walter is super impressive, and due to his efforts for Progress, Wxw and others he has won a legion of fans. As the match neared its end I was actually swung with how Chaos would book this, with Riddle surprisingly winning last November I wasn’t ruling out a Walter win. When the finish did come it was a little anticlimactic, with the referee not paying attention Grizz hit Walter with a low blow followed by a Sit Down Chokeslam to retain his KOC title.
