I still don\u2019t know how I feel about Erick Rowan\ntalking this much, though I suppose he has to if they\u2019re really trying to push\nhim as a singles(ish) star. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Erick Rowan vs Daniel Bryan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with not being used to hearing Rowan talk a\nlot, I\u2019m not used to seeing him wrestle long matches by himself. But, much like\nthe talking, we\u2019ve got to get used to seeing him in longer matches and winning\nif we\u2019re supposed to take him seriously as the monster heel he\u2019s being\npresented as. Also at one point Bryan\u2019s foot got caught up in the ropes and I\nwas certain that Rowan was about to tear this dude\u2019s ACL. Alas, both worked\nthrough it so kudos to the guys for no one getting hurt. Post-match, Daniel Bryan\nand Roman Reigns vs Erick Rowan and Luke Harper became official for Hell in a\nCell after a brawl. I\u2019m fairly certain most of us have been expecting this\nsince Bryan and Rowan got involved in the \u201cWho tried to kill Roman?\u201d story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winner: Erick Rowan<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grade: B+<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interview with the champion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I admire Kofi Kingston\u2019s confidence; such swagger is\nbefitting of a champion. And as much as I\u2019ve enjoyed Kingston as champion, with\nthe move to Fox and Brock Lesnar supposedly starting a more full-time schedule,\nI don\u2019t foresee him retaining the championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chad Gable vs Mike Kanellis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Short jokes, short jokes everywhere. Seven minutes\nof short jokes, a less-than-a-minute match, and Elias singing a song about\nGable being short. End this, please.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bayley and Sasha Banks vs Charlotte Flair and Carmella<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Something that never fails to get me hyped is Banks\u2019\ntransition to the Bank Statement. She makes it so seamless. Carmella was pretty\nmuch a non-factor here and I\u2019m pretty sure she was in the match only to eat the\npin. We saw more of Becky Lynch and Flair\u2019s shaky alliance here, adding more\ntension to the upcoming Hell in a Cell match between Lynch and Banks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winner: Sasha Banks and Bayley<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grade: B-<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ali vs Shinsuke Nakamura<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sami Zayn as an annoying mouthpiece has definitely\ngrown on me. Everything from his facial expressions to his delivery is spot on\nand makes you just want to punch him right in the face (or see him get\nchokeslammed by the Undertaker again). Also, is Ali ever going to get anything\nfor beating the Intercontinental Champion clean a few weeks ago? Like, a title\nshot maybe? Is that too much to ask?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grade: B<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

B Team vs New Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This was a nice rebound win for the New Day and\nthat\u2019s pretty much all it was. Sometimes we just have to take things as is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winner: New Day<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fire and Desire vs Kabuki Warriors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was great seeing the Kabuki Warriors on\ntelevision again! I really want them back in the tag team title picture\nsometime soon. This match was\u2026it was rough but all parties made it through. At\nthe end, Sonya Deville looked about done so Fire and Desire may be about to\nbreak up again and feud properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winner: Kabuki Warriors<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grade: C-<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s settle this once and for all<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the best things about wrestling is that everything\nfrom murder cases to paternity to lawsuits can be contested in a ladder match.\nWell, it looks like we have ourselves one of those career-on-the-line ladder\nmatches between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens slated for Hell in a Cell. I\nthink this segment was done wonderfully and hopefully this will truly be the\nlast match between these two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grade: B<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ending on a high note<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I really, really liked this little ending segment\nwith Sasha Banks attacking Becky Lynch during an interview. It was a nice way\nto close out the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Thoughts<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

So this is the end of an era. Smackdown Live said\ngoodbye to Tuesday nights and the USA Network. I think the show was pretty\nsolid, with attention being paid to both the network move and the upcoming\npay-per-view. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
