In the go home show of 205 Live before WrestleMania, we see Oney Lorcan take on Kalisto and Mike Kanellis battle with his foe, Akira Tozawa. Without any further ado, let’s get into the review.

Oney Lorcan vs Kalisto

Lorcan’s first match as a member of the 205 Live roster, he takes on the ‘leader’ of the Lucha House Party, Kalisto. Kalisto, a high flying, energetic wrestler takes on the hard hitting, no nonsense brawler, Lorcan. With both men balancing precariously on the apron, Lorcan tries to connect with a half-and-half suplex but Kalisto escapes with some elbows to the head and he uses the ring post to propel himself to hit the salida del sol on the apron, ouch! Both men collapse on the outside but Kalisto manages to roll Lorcan back in the ring to break up the count. He pins Lorcan for a near fall and Kalisto heads to the top rope. Lorcan heads up after Kalisto but receives some stiff elbows to the jaw and he falls to the canvas. Kalisto turns around and tries to hit a 450 splash but Lorcan gets his knees up. Lorcan follows it up with his finisher, the half-and-half suplex. Lorcan pins Kalisto and gets a 1, 2, 3 (@12:35). Lorcan is victorious in his debut as a 205 Live member with an impressive match. This match was really good and had some great moments. I enjoyed it and I see Lorcan heading into the title picture very soon.

After the match, a couple backstage segments came along and Buddy Murphy and Tony Nese attacked each other and ended up on the ramp. Nese drove Murphy into the LED board and followed it up with a brutal running Nese to the side of the face. Nese stands tall as he heads to Mania to challenge Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship.

Akira Tozawa vs Mike Kanellis

In a rematch from a couple of weeks ago, Tozawa gers another shot at Kanellis after getting distracted and losing in their last match. Mike Kanellis who is still yet to really prove himself in 205 Live has another chance to put on a great match against Akira Tozawa. After back-and-forth action and some hard hitting moves, both men find themselves perched on the top rope, engaged in a striking contest. Kanellis gets the better of it and lifts Tozawa onto his shoulders in a fireman’s carry. The veteran experience of Tozawa allows him to shift his wait and nail Kanellis with a super-rana from the top rope. 1, 2, no! Both men find themselves in a striking contest, slap, punch, jab, boot, enzuigiri! Both men are down. Tozawa charges Kanellis in the corner but gets caught with a boot, Tozawa though goes back in and connects with a beautiful snap German. Tozawa goes to the top rope but is cut off by Kanellis who strikes Tozawa off the top rope and onto the apron. Tozawa tries to go for a sunset flip bomb but Kanellis sits down and goes for a pin with his wife holding his hands. Unfortunately for him though, the ref spots it and stops counting. Tozawa, seizing the opportunity, rolls up Kanellis and picks up the win (@18:00). After the match, Tozawa celebrates with his friend, “The” Brian Kendrick. This was a really good match. Nothing ‘spectacular’ as such but it was really, really good. A great end to this weeks 205 Live.

205 Live’s go home show wasn’t amazing but did it get me hyped for the Cruiserweight Championship match at WrestleMania. You’re damn right it did. There were some great segments in this show and the video packages throughout make me really hyped for WrestleMania. See you guys next week for another 205 Live review (and possibly a new Cruiserweight Champion!).
