Sorry for this review being late, I’ve been very busy lately but I’ll see if I can sneak a quick review in… let’s get right into this week’s episode of 205 Live.

Humberto Carrillo vs TJP

With the debut of a tatted up, facial hair wielding TJP, we saw a brilliant highflying, fast paced and technical match. During the match, we saw Drew Gulak and Gentleman Jack Gallagher support Carrillo from outside the ring. A very back-and-forth match, after some great action TJP managed to lock in an arm trapped crossface. Carrillo manages to escape by making his way to the bottom rope before the two brawl on the apron. Carrillo evades TJP and connects with a springboard dropkick to the back of TJP’s head. Carrillo rolls TJP back in the ring and connects with his headstand moonsault for the 1, 2, 3. After the match, Gulak and Gentleman Jack Gallagher head inside the ring and lift up Carrillo to celebrate his victory. As previously stated, this match had a good balance of highflying and technical soundness. I enjoyed this match and thought it was a good way to introduce this new (and presumably face) TJP. 7/10.

Ariya Daivari vs Johnny Lyons

In a squash match, Daivari decimates Lyons, hits him with a hammerlock lariat and locks in the cobra clutch. Lyons taps out, Daivari is successful. It’s a squash match so I’m not going to rate this one, Daivari looks strong with a dominating victory though.

Cedric Alexander vs Mike Kanellis

In a technical masterclass by Kanellis, we saw the more strategically sound Kanellis wear down Alexander throughout the match. Both men fought in a hard-hitting contest and delivered a great main event. With Kanellis having the advantage, Alexander managers to dump Kanellis over the top rope and to the outside of the ring. Alexander hits a beautiful arching tope con hiro to take out Kanellis. Alexander tries to make his way back into the ring but he gets distracted by Maria Kanellis who eventually lets Alexander through just for Mike Kanellis to connect with a beautiful superkick. 1, 2, no! Kanellis thinks just won the match and his wife comes in the ring to celebrate but that win is not secured yet as the referee informs Kanellis of the kickout. Kanellis goes for a knee in the corner but Alexander rolls him through and connects with a lumbar check for the 1, 2, 3. Alexander wins but Kanellis looks very strong as he dominated a majority of the match. 7.75/10.

This episode was solid enough and considering this episode doesn’t really matter that much, the quality of matches was pretty darn good.
