10th February 2019 – Watsco Center, Miami,FL

On commentary tonight is NWA champion Nick Aldis (with Kamille)  and Carpice Coleman

Rhett Titus VS Jay Briscoe

With no introduction Rhett Titus is in the Ring doing bodybuilding poses , interrupted by Jay Briscoe

Match started aggressively by Briscoe , who was dominant throughout , Titus had flurries of offence but couldn’t keep Briscoe down

the pace of the match steady and deliberate , which suited both men , the crowd were flat to start but grew into the match.

after a Double Down , Briscoe brought the match to a close with a sequence of Hangman’s Noose Neckbreaker , Running Lariat (which turned Titus inside-out) and his

finisher, the dreaded Jay Driller (which looked devastating, Titus sold it well ).

the match was a little over 7 minutes and made Briscoe look strong.

Next up-

Dalton Castle & The Boys VS Shinobi Shadow Squad ( Cheeseburger, Eli Isom & Ryan Nova) 6 Man tag match an energetic entrance by 3S is matched and possible be outdone by the ever flamboyant Dalton Castle, the code of honor was adhered to by both teams which is nice.

Ryan Nova starts the match with Castle ,who quickly establishes control with is extensive amateur wrestling skill, the crowd are behind 3S who are viewed as the future of the company and are all very talented in their own right.

3S cause Castle and the Boys problems throughout with their continuity as a team with various double team combinations. in the end , after a clash of heads with Nova , Isom delivered a perfect Brainbuster on Castle for the upset victory.

after match castle was not impressed with The Boys (dissension in the ranks is apparent- possible split on the cards , or maybe a screwjob, time will tell)

the match was just over 12 minutes and the crowd were just as surprised when 3S picked up the victory – a solid tag match.

Zach Sabre Jr VS Colt Cabana

Cabana enters the ring first to a very positive crowd reaction.

a mixed reaction for ZSJ , not that it bothered him.

Cabana ever the fun loving guy calls for streamers , and gets a couple that he wraps around the referee , who takes it like a good sport.much the opposite for ZSJ who is all business.

ZSJ refuses to adhere to the code of honor

Match begins.

In my humble opinion this match didn’t get the time it deserved , it was a technical masterclass from both men , who exchanged holds and counter holds for the majority of the match but the longer the match went it favored the lighter Sabre Jr and once he started to work on a specific body part (this being the right arm and shoulder of Cabana) it was only a matter of time. The time came around 13 minutes when Sabre Jr locked on a Triangle Choke/ Armbar combination on Cabana who resisted submission for brief spell before Sabre Jr applied a little more torque to the hold for the tap out victory.

If there is one match you watch this weekend then PLEASE watch this one.

4 Corner Survival Match ( #1 Contender for ROH Title)

Willie Mack VS Kenny King VS Silas Young VS Marty Scurll

Silas enters first to a chorus of boos from the crowd to which he verbally berates the crowd.

Willie Mack enters next proudly wearing the NWA National Championship Title.

Kenny King Enters with his usual swagger and confidence( my pick for this match)

Finally The Villain enters to a wholesome positive reaction from the crowd

Texas tornado style match (all competitors in the ring at same time)

Crowd immediately into the watch WOOOOOing chops etc

Scurll and Mack worked together early on to take out King and then Young.

The babyfaces squared off temporarily but the heels dragged them to ringside.

Young and King picked up their long TV title rivalry from last year.

Mack and Scurll returned to take out the heels ,Mack hit a top rope crossbody onto all three men in the ring and followed with a flip over the ropes onto them at ringside.

Young looked for the Milwaukee Plunge on King but Mack superkicked him in the face as he posed upside down in the corner.

King hit a springboard blockbuster on Mack but Young broke it up.

Scurll catapulted King into a right hand from Mack.

Mack followed with a senton onto King across Scurll’s knees.

Scurll and Mack exchanged chops.

You could see a cloud of sweat come off Mack’s chest.  They traded strikes.  Scurll stomped on Mack’s fingers but the heels prevented him from snapping his hand.

King got his knees up on another Milwaukee Plunge attempt from Young.

Scurll locked Young in the chicken-wing.

King jumped into the ring with a steel chair.  The referee grabbed the chair, missing Young tapping to Scurll.  King hit a low-blow on Scurll and rolled him up with a handful of tights. Winner Kenny King11:17, yet again another match that needed more time to really get the best out of all 4 guys.

ROH TV Title Match

Pits Jeff Cobb against Rocky Romero

Code of Honor adhered to by both men

The Crowd showed both men respect throughout this match.

Romero tried for waistlocks and suplexes but he couldn’t budge the big man.

He landed an eye poke, though. Romero dropkicked Cobb off the apron but Cobb caught him on a splash over the ropes.

Romero ran Cobb arm-first into the ring post and hit a running knee off the apron.

Romero with a springboard dropkick.  He looked for a cross armbreaker on the injured arm but Cobb powered out.

Cobb wanted no part of the hurricanrana attempt by Rocky  and hit a powerslam. Cobb with a body slam and standing moonsault.

Romero hit his four running clotheslines in the corner and nailed sliced bread for a near-fall.

He went for another sliced bread but Cobb countered it into a backbreaker. Romero finally hit a hurricanrana on Cobb for a two-count , Romero followed up with Palm strikes that just annoyed Cobb who threw him into the corner and followed it up with a Belly to belly suplex, German suplex and a Tour Of The Islands for the victory.

Winner: Jeff Cobb in a little over 14 minutes to retain the TV title (The Hawaiian Juggernaut keep on rolling through  the competition in ROH , although not so invincible , it will take a considerable effort to take the TV title from him)

WOH WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Kelly Klein VS Artist Of Stardom Champion Mayu Iwatani

Iwatani enters first displaying her Stardom Title and Sporting a very nice Cat head mask to a positive crowd reaction.

Next the champion Klein makes her way to the ring flanked by Camp Klein ( almost an air of Shayna Bazsler about her )

Klein is the taller and stronger of the two , so an air of confidence about her and possibly not taking her challenger seriously.

Iwatani connected with kicks after a brief feeling out process.

She tried for an Irish whip but Klein hung onto the ropes.

Iwatani ran through her with more kicks.

Klein locked in a cravat and hit some knees to the head. She tossed Iwatani into the guardrail then Klein sat on the top turnbuckle and choked Iwatani off the ground.

After the referee broke the illegal hold Iwatami recovered and used a Flying headscissors that  sent Klein to the floor and hit a crossbody off the top rope onto her at ringside.

Klein recovered this time and drilled Iwatami fwith a German suplex on the floor, Klein rolled in for the countout victory but Iwatani returned at 17 ( a 20 count is used in ROH). They exchanged strikes again.German suplex from Iwatani and a Buzzsaw-Like roundhouse kick gave Iwatani a two-count.

Desperation Clothesline from Klein.

Dragon suplex from Iwatani and another vicious Kick to the head of Klein ,The champ kicked out at two.

Iwantani smells blood and delivers a Shining wizard and quickly nails a top-rope moonsault for another two count.

Iwatani goes to the top and nailed a second Moonsault for the win!  What!!!!!!!!!!!! another upset victory

Winner and NEWWWWWWWWW WOH Champion Mayu Iwatami.in just over 11 minutes.

Klein is in disbelief and is visually distraught , she is helped to the locker room by the member of Camp Klein.

8 Man Tag Match

Lifeblood (IWGP US Champ Juice Robinson, Bandido ,Tracy Williams & Mark Haskins) VS The Bouncers & Coast 2 Coast (Beer City Bruisers, Brian Milonas, LSG & Shaheem Ali)

Haskins and Ali started for their teams.

All eight men squared off at 5:45.

The fans wanted the referee to make it an impromptu tornado tag match but instead he was able to convince the illegal wrestlers to leave (BOOOOOOOOOO).

Robinson got the hot tag at 11:35and he took out all four opponents.

Robinson tried and failed to body slam Milonas but too much weight to lift, Robinson rolled out of the way of a sit-down splash though.

LSG and Bandido tagged in, Bandido avoided a charge which saw LSG collide with Bruiser on the apron.

Bandido gets the crown on their feet with a twisting corkscrew splash off the top rope onto LSG in the ring.

Ali with a sidekick and he splashed over the ropes onto Robinson.

Haskins took him out with a kick but Bruiser hit a death valley driver onto the apron (which I gasped at).

Bandido dove off the top into a sick DDT on Milonas.

LSG hit a picture perfect 450 Splash on Bandido but Robinson and Williams broke it up.

No clue who the legal men were at this point.

Bruiser looked for a crossbody but Bandido(with superhuman show of strength) caught him in mid-air. and planted him with a Powerslam Wow.

Modified Go To Sleep and a 21plex on LSG gave Bandido the pinfall. th crowd loved it ( Bandido is the man to watch , so exciting and very innovative)

Winners Lifeblood in just over 16 Minutes

After the match all 8 men shared a cold one in the ring (which was refreshing to see) expect Miss Dashwood felt a bit left out ……….so The Bouncers Passed her a Brewski and the the party continued.

PCO VS Mark Briscoe

Put the children to bed for this one , as this is not for the faint of heart.

It took less than  a minute for both men to bring steel chairs into the ring but referee Todd Sinclair warned them not to use them ( another BOOOOOO from me as a no holds barred match would have been amazing)

Briscoe hit a blockbuster off the apron to PCO on the floor.

PCO no-sold a bunch of offense and unloaded with chops to Briscoe in the corner.

Cannonball through the ropes onto Briscoe at ringside ( PCO very agile for a big man).

Briscoe dropped him throat-first across the guardrail.

Cactus Jack elbow off the apron ( I must admit , I marked out for that LOL).  PCO had a cut above his left eye (not that it seemed to bother him).

He went for a cannonball off the top rope onto Briscoe on the apron but Briscoe moved and PCO just crashed and bounced off the apron.

Briscoe hurled him into the guardrail.

They brawled up the ramp to the stage, and traded Knife Edge chops , referee Todd Sinclair followed and watched them.

Briscoe powerbombed PCO onto the stage and followed up with a Knee Strike that sent PCO tumbling backwards down the ramp stairs.

Sinclair went back to the ring and strangely started counting them out now. Okay then.(Obviously not enough extreme stuff for the referee) ,Briscoe re-entered the ring with PCO left for dead in the aisle.

PCO regained his senses and sprinted back into the ring.  Briscoe fetched another chair.  PCO threw one in the ring, Sinclair again  took them away.

Briscoe grabbed a second and threw it at PCO’s head and connected with a second unprotected chair shot to the head (the referee has lost control at this point), Briscoe trying to seize on the opening hit a top rope elbow drop but PCO kicked out.

A Body slam followed by A Top rope Moonsault. gave PCO the victory in just over 12 and a half minutes. not the best match , the flow was off , referee was all out of sorts (the SENIOR official) that is and really poor finish.

Main Event Time

6 Man Tag Team Match

The Kingdom ( Matt Taven , TK O’Ryan & Vinny Marseglia) VS Jonathan Gresham , Rush & ROH Champion Jay Lethal

Gresham and Marseglia started.

Things broke down with everyone brawling everywhere.

The referee didn’t see Rush get DDTed onto a chair at ringside , he was also driven into the guardrail multiple times and head-first into the ring post.

Taven dragged Rush by his hair (a sore spot for Taven where Rush is concerned) as The Kingdom isolated him in their corner.

Hot Tag to Gresham at 10:00 then quickly Gresham made  tag to Lethal at 11:00 and he hit his trio of suicide dives.

Taven avoided Hail To The King but took a Lethal Combination for his trouble.

Just The Tip (of the knee) from Taven.

Rush and Gresham blocked Rockstar Supernova.

Three-way dropkick to O’Ryan but Marseglia broke up the pin.

House Of A Thousand Horses to Rush, then again to Gresham.

The Kingdom set up Lethal for Rockstar Supernova again but he fought out.

Taven blocked a Lethal Injection and hit The Climax on Lethal for the pin.

Winners  The Kingdom in just over 23 Minutes, great match , really told the story of Taven & Lethal , the supporting cast did an amazing job too , crowd was well into it.

Kenny King appears with a mic and verbally dresses down Jay Lethal calling him a loser and how he beat Marty Scurll’s ass earlier on , this brings a reaction out of our favourite villain and he give King a beatdown.

From there a melee ensues with all of tonight’s male competitors hitting the ring , there is violence all around the ringside until its only referee Sinclair in the ring , Bully Ray Berates Sinclair in the corner and seemingly from nowhere.

the ever deranged PCO confronts Bully and they trade heavy blows.

Out come the briscoes like a pack of wolves and attack PCO.

Bully leaves and PCO climbs to the top turnbuckle and (with the spot of the night) performs a very awkward looking Moonsault on to everyone.

PCO Celebrates with his Villain Enterprises Leader Scurll and the event closes out.

In Summary , an above average PPV

Match of the Night – Zach Sabre Jr VS Colt Cabana for me.

Hope this review is ok , apologies for the delay
