This week’s episode begins with a look back at the Greatest Royal Rumble and Cedric Alexander’s successful defense of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Kalisto.

Tag Team Match
Hideo Itami & Akira Tozawa Vs Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher

Our first match sees the team of Hideo Itami & Akira Tozawa in action against the Gentlemen with a Plan, Jack Gallagher & Brian Kendrick. Both teams are jockeying for position in the 205 Tag Team Division, and this one has some history to play back on as Itami is the man who injured Kendrick. The injury left the man formerly known as Spanky on the sidelines through the duration of the tournament to crown the new Cruiserweight Champion after the belt was vacated due to the release of Enzo Amore.

Lots of back and forth action, with Kendrick and Itami exchanging stiff shots, building off the animosity that Kendrick must be feeling since he was unable to compete for the Cruiserweight Title because of Itami directly.

With Tozawa on the top rope, readying for the Senton Bomb and looking to put away his opponents, Hideo Itami accidentally hits the ropes, crotching his partner and interrupting what could potentially have been the finish. Kendrick and Itami cancel each other out, and Jack Gallagher knocks Tozawa out with a brutal Headbutt to pick up the three count and continue the trend of Itami & Tozawa’s miscommunication costing them matches.

After the bout, Itami is clearly frustrated and shoves Tozawa to the mat. The fans started a “no respect” chant, and Akira Tozawa looked heart-broken sitting in the middle of the ring on his own, confused about the reaction from his mentor and partner.

Backstage, Drew Gulak talks some smack about Kalisto, saying that he squandered his opportunity at the Greatest Royal Rumble. Gulak mentions that he is 100% tonight, and hasn’t been worn down prior to meeting the luchador. He says that even though he entered the Gauntlet earlier than Kalisto last week, the former Cruiserweight Champion just barely squeaked by him, and tonight the outcome will be different, because if Kalisto stepts to him, he will tap out.

Buddy Murphy returns to action having made the 205 pound weight limit, after missing out on the Greatest Royal Rumble due to being unable to make weight previously. During his weigh-in, Maverick tries to welcome him back to the roster and offers his hand, but Murphy doesn’t want to shake it. He just wants his title match.

Singles Match
Buddy Murphy Vs Liam Louis

Murphy’s opponent tonight is Liam Louis. This is a squash match, as Murphy just beats the holy hell out of Louis. Murphy with a Triple Powerbomb, but refuses the three count. The ref stops the match anyways though, because Louis could no longer defend himself. Murphy just bullied his way to a win in his return to 205 Live.

Cedric Alexander meets Murphy in the aisle and attacks him. The two men roll around a bit, but Murphy shoves him off and then bails to the back, wanting nothing to do with the brawl after having just worked a match.

We get an announcement that next week’s show will feature the team of Kendrick & Gallagher in action against The Lucha House Party of Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado.

Backstage again, and Cedric Alexander says that he didn’t attack Buddy Murphy from behind like Murphy did to him… and that if Murphy really wants what he has, he knows where to find him.

Singles Match
Kalisto Vs Drew Gulak

Our main event is here and Gulak is getting in way more offense than he did last week. Obviously, with Kalisto having been the final entrant in the Gauntlet Match, Gulak was already worn down and Kalisto took advantage to secure himself the match with Alexander at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

This week is different though, as a rested Drew Gulak is dominant in the early moments of the bout. An on-screen graphic reveals another match for next week’s show, as Buddy Murphy will be in action again, this time against the man that Cedric defeated at WrestleMania, Mustafa Ali. That should be a hell of a match.

Kalisto picks up some momentum after stopping Gulak from removing his mask. Another “this is awesome” chant. It’s good to see and hear the crowd getting more involved in 205 week after week. Gulak wins with the Dragon Sleeper after countering the Salida del Sol, proving that when he is prepared, he is better than the former Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto.
