Io Shirai vs Chelsea Green vs Tegan Nox vs Dakota Kai vs Candice LeRae vs Mia Yim-Number One Contender’s Ladder Match

There were quite a few good bumps in this match and overall I think it went well. I felt there was a bit of lag in the match though; it seemed like there were times that people didn’t know what they were supposed to be doing nor did they really know how to improvise. Nox and Kai went at it as we expected. I’m pretty sure no one was surprised that Shirai retrieved the briefcase, but surely no one was disappointed either.

Winner: Io Shirai

The pandemic is basically keeping us from the WALTER and Finn Balor match we all deserve. Boo.

Saurav and Rinku vs Chase Parker and Matt Martel

It was basically a squash match for Saurav and Rinku and not a very good one at that, especially as a debut match.

Winner: Saurav and Rinku

Grade: D

It’s fun to see Adam Cole cutting scathing promos when you also watch him playing Uno online. I love CHUGS.

Interim Cruiserweight Championship Tournament

I wanted to put my two cents in on this situation. I think this is absolutely disrespectful to the current champion, Jordan Devlin. Not only have there been periods of time where certain championships haven’t been defended, there’s also talent over in the UK who could be challenging Devlin.

Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa

I’ve had all I can take and I can take no more. This match was entirely too long! There’s no reason this needed to go on for almost an hour. They were trying to be dramatic and give the match character but it was all too overdone, from the brawling to the monologues. I can see what they were going for but this match just wasn’t it.

I hope we can successfully transition into some stories that don’t involve each other for a while.

Winner: Johnny Gargano

Final Thoughts

The episode started off solid and then, in my opinion, tanked when the Gargano-Ciampa match went past twenty-five minutes. I also don’t like that there’s gonna be an interim Cruiserweight Champion. I wasn’t feeling this week’s episode; NXT has done far better than this.

Overall Grade: C-
