So on Latest IMPACT this week there was only 1 unseen match between Jordynne Grace, Kiera Hogan and Madison Rayne which was pre-taped at the beginning of SLAMMIVERSARY XVII. The match was very good with all three knockouts taking the upper hand in the match and The “girl on Fire” Kiera Hogan played the excellent heel, Rayne plays her role as the Knockouts veteran very well and Grace using her strength and power. But in the end, Jordynne grace won the Match with Grace Driver which only shows IMPACT see her as a future knockouts champion having only lost a handful of times since her first loss to Taya Valkyrie at Rebellion a little over two months ago.
During the course of the show, we had Don Callis and Josh Matthews in various locations discussing matches from SLAMMIVERSARY and joined by guests Such as Jimmy Jacobs who would help talk about the Knockouts Monsters Ball match. Callis, Matthews, and Jacobs put this match over as one of the best Monsters Ball matches they’ve seen in quite some time as well as putting the current knockouts Division over constantly which they deserve. It truly was a great match and it cemented Taya’s reign as the champ and I can’t see that reign being done any time soon.
We also had the newest addition to the backstage team in D’lo Brown running down everything that happened during the Tag Team Triple threat for the World Tag Team Championships Calling it one of the best tag matches to have taken place at a SLAMMIVERSARY which I would have to agree with. They took us backstage as Santana was being put into the ambulance with Konnan saying The tag Champions The North got “Lucky” and making it clear to Alexander and Page that LAX will repay the favor by taking back the IMPACT world Tag Team Championships away from the north to become 5-time World Tag Team Champions. Josh and Don would but the current champions over by saying they just get it done.
We also got Recaps of all the matches that happened at Slammiversary from the people involved in them from moose to RVD to Killer Kross and Eddie Edwards. All four of whom put on great matches at Slammiversary, Although Moose vs RVD wasn’t exactly my favorite I still enjoyed it and it looks like we could be seeing it again as RVD informed us he won’t be taking moose lightly again and wants to show him why he’s the whole F’n show. Killer Kross has such a huge future In IMPACT if only the company and Kross could come to an agreement over Kross’s contract issues.
We then got treated to a match from A night you can’t mist which was an IMPACT plus special from June as IMPACT teamed with Tommy Dreamers house of hard-core. The match we were shown was the Main event of That show in which Johnny IMPACT and Michael Elgin teamed up against the makeshift of Tommy Dreamer and The Great Muta. The match wasn’t particularly very fast paced nor was it technical put all 4 men did a great job in making sure the match was Memorable although a “Fan” tried to make sure he was remembered when he spat at Taya Valkyrie on the outside after he’d been insulting most of the talent all night and he overstepped the mark once he insulted Johnny Impact. The Knockouts champion knocked the guy’s beer out of his hand. The issue didn’t calm down which lead to Tommy asking for a microphone to tell the guy “Sit down watch the show and Enjoy the Great F’n Muta “ It calmed down once the “Fan” was escorted out by Atlas Security. From there the match became quite nostalgic with Muta spraying both of his opponents with Mist and Dreamer Misting Taya with Beer. A few corkscrew leg whips and a Shining wizard later Muta pins Johnny Impact for the win.
This Show was great for what it was however I’m sure most people tune into a wrestling show for Wrestling. But due to there being no Tapings after Slammiversary IMPACT decided to do a one-off recap show until next week where there will be a TV special called Fallout in which there will be miss matched teams like Tessa Blanchard and Sami Callihan vs Trey Miguel and Jake Crist. That should be a great show and I’m looking forward to watching it.
