The show opens with a quick recap of last week’s amazing episode and with SLAMMIVERSARY approaching rapidly here’s what went down on IMPACT’S Go Home show.
The show begins with an X Division match between Ace Austin and TJP. The match starts with both man feeling each other out with Mat based holds and both stars finding creative ways to break out of the holds. Then we pick up the pace with high flying and hard strikes from both. With a little back and forth Ace attempts a roll up but Referee Brandon Tolle spots Austin holding onto the top rope. Both men attempt their finishes but to no Avail until Austin Attempts the Fold but parkinsonism jumps over him and quickly locks in a knee bar for the Submission victory. Ace is the future of the X Division and a future champion within the year.
Match Highlights: Ace uses a playing card to give Perkins a paper cut in between the fingers. TJP showing why WWE shouldn’t have dropped him both men hitting outside dives then Austin says to TJP “You don’t belong here the ropes aren’t purple”.
Cage vs Elgin Promo package which has the desired effect getting me excited for the Main Event of SLAMMIVERSARY .
Return from break Melissa Santos has an interview with Bravo and IMPACT who put themselves over Bravo is wearing a fake blonde Man bun then they give us a MegaPowers Impression.
Back to ringside Jordynne Grace comes to join commentary for Kiera Hogan vs Madison Rayne. Throughout the match Hogan was Jaw Jacking to her former friend Grace, as well as Pie facing Thicc Mamma pump. Rayne tries to take advantage of the Distractions from Grace but doesn’t work. Hogan Kicks out of The rip chord cutter by Rayne she Attempts a pin fall and puts her feet on the middle rope for leverage yet Madison still kicks out. Kiera hits a beautiful Northern lights suplex for the 3 count but After the match Jordynne jumps I’m the ring baited by Hogan but like the heel she is she jumped from the ring and made a quick exit. Grace then tries to console Madison Rayne for her loss but the former Knockouts champion isn’t interested. Kiera Hogan is ready to be Knockouts champion and 1 big Feud with a name it’ll happen.
A segment outside of the Melrose ballroom with The Desi hit squad where Gama wants to welcome Rohit to the Singh family by offering him the family tea. However Whilst The 3 where talking The Deaners pour the tea away and replace it with beer to the anger of The DHS.
Show Returns from Ads and backstage father James Mitchell is trying to get SU and Havok on the same page in the hopes one of them can become Knockouts champion at SLAMMIVERSARY.
IMPACT plus Flashback: They take us back to A Monsters Ball match between Jade and Rosemary. In my opinion this feud made both of these amazing Knockouts. We had everything you’d expect from any Monsters Ball match from a barbed wired board to thumbtacks and both women beating the hell out of each other. Rosemary retained her title with a vicious superplex off the top rope through a table.
Promo package for the Knockouts championship Monsters Ball and I think this could be a show stealer from these 4 women watch this space.
Return from the next set of Ads with The SLAMMIVERSARY promo package for possibly the biggest Intergender match in IMPACT history between Tessa Blanchard and Sami Callihan. I’m calling this as match of the night. I’m more ready for this because of Sami’s recent attack.
Back to ringside it’s time for Rohit Raju introduced by Gama Singh vs Laredo Kid. Love seeing kid back and Rohit is such an underrated star for IMPACT Both men dodge I clothes lines then as Laredo Kid attempts a moonsault the bottom ring rope breaks off the turnbuckle but to both mens credit they continue. Raju plays up to the crowd gaining some heat. A very fast paced match with excellent exchanges and a beautiful suicide dive from kid. Laredo attempts a twisting corkscrew but is distracted by DHS and Rohit rolls away. He then hits a Double stop to the back of Laredo Kid for the 3.
Next Promo package is for Moose and RVD. I’m a little unsure about this match, But If anyone can put on a good match for a PPV it’s Mr PPV RVD and Moose.
Then we have Moose’s final words for RVD, In the ring and Tells us how he used to be a Fan of Rob in His ECW days. But he points out things have changed. The crowd break in to Dueling Chants of Rob Van Dam, Moose. The former NFL stars points out their similarities and sends a message Rob telling
Mr PPV he’s Mr IMPACT Wrestling telling The former world champion he’s better than him and he’ll prove it. Moose then cuts to a video showing us A beaten Sabu and Asks Rob “Do I have Your Attention now?” RVD comes flying out and the two Brawl but is quickly broken up by security.
Straight after we get The Rascalz Triple threat. The loser won’t go to SLAMMIVERSARY, I mean what a match starting off hot with all three attempting pinfalls but nothing doing. Very fast paced with A couple of close calls when Dez hit his final flash off the top rope to Wentz but only for Trey to break up the Pin at two, With Trey attempting the Meteora but Wentz ducks and stereo kicks from Dez and Wentz knocking Trey down one Straight Fire (Wentz back flips in mid air and Dez pushes him into their opponent) Trey eats the Pin and it’s Dez and Wentz going to Slammiversary for the Tag title opportunity.
Just before the Ad a car pulls up with Tessa Blanchard inside, she climbs out of the car and grabs a baseball bat of her own from the back seat.
Return from Ads we’re shown the promo package for the brutal first Blood at Slammiversary between Eddie Edwards and Killer Kross. I’m hoping this is a sign IMPACT are trying to Keep Kross.
We then head back to Boston, MA to the church from last week with Killer Kross giving a sermon about how Eddie was betrayed by everyone and how he’ll bring out The real side of Eddie Edwards by allowing him to “Die”. We’re left with the image of blood dripping from Kross’s mouth.
Promo package for The X Division championship between Swann and IMPACT which will certainly be a spectacle.
The official Announcement for TJP’S Open challenge at SLAMMIVERSARY I have sneaky suspicion who it may be but I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
Main Event time Johnny Impact and John E Bravo enter first followed by an Energetic Entrance by The X Division Champion Rich Swann and his partner Willie Mack who’s a future X Division Champion in my opinion. The match started by Swann and IMPACT with Bravo picking and choosing his Moment to enter the match but just as quickly leaves the ring playing the perfect Chicken heel. It wouldn’t take long for Mack and Swann to give The former official what was coming to Him, Ping-Pong punches followed by Dual super kicks to
IMPACT sending him out of the ring. A Stunner followed by a Phoenix Splash to Bravo and The X Division Champion picks up the win for his team.
Josh and Don’t sign off but we’re sent to the roof of the Melrose Ballroom to an OVE party with one missing, Dave Crist. We’re told he’s chaining up Fulton in the basement but before we know it Dave is back but we see him flying across the food table. The camera turns to Tessa Blanchard standing there with the bat she had picked up from her car earlier. A Brawl begins with Tessa Taking out Jake early, Callihan and Blanchard exchange but as The Knockout is about to smash a beer bottle over the Death machines head The Medium Draw Jake Crist restrains Blanchard but gets a swinging back legs for his trouble just sit Tessa can avoid a baseball bat to her head after repeated fists to her stomach. Finally the 3rd generation superstar regains momentum picking up her metal bat and Laying Sami out. That’s our lasting image on the go home IMPACT Wrestling and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire show, perfect from start to finish.
The Commentary team of Josh Matthews and Don “By Gawd” Callis were outstanding.
