Sam’s Town , Las Vegas,NV
Commentary – Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman & Dalton Castle (first match only)
Starting the show there was a video showing the formation of Villain Enterprises, when The Kingdom Surrounded Marty Scurll and told him he had no friends left, to which Marty responded ‘ yes my friends have left me….but that doesn’t mean I can’t make new ones’ the lights go out and in a flash almost Brody King and PCO are at Marty’s side, a brawl ensued.
Mark Haskins VS RUSH
The action started straight away with Mark Haskins taking on RUSH in a very even, hard hitting contest, both men pulled no punches and emptied their respective arsenals on each other, even trading submissions at one point which included a Bridging Armbar and Triangle Choke by Haskins and a Crossface by RUSH, Haskins thought he had RUSH beat with a Satellite DDT but got a near fall, much to Haskins disbelief.
The end of the match came following a Corner Exploder Suplex by RUSH (Haskins’s ankle got twisted up on the bottom turnbuckle) and the larger RUSH followed it up with the ‘Bull’s Horns’ (Running Low Dropkick to the face) for the victory.
Winner RUSH in 9:23
A good contest, the crowd were behind both men. Haskins give a good accounting of himself against his larger opponent. Afterwards RUSH declined a handshake from Haskins (poor for from RUSH)
Next for RUSH a date with Dalton Castle at G1 Supercard – El Toro Bianco Vs The Peacock, should be an interesting match and one to keep an eye out for.
Video Package- Flashback to when The Briscoes won the ROH Tag Team Titles at Honor Rising and issued a Title for Title challenge to the G.O.D (Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa) at G1 Supercard, but maybe they tempted fate as both teams lost their respective titles to Villain Enterprises and EVIL & Sanada respectively, which in turn has set up a 4 corner survival match at G1 Supercard for both sets of Tag Team Titles (This has barnburner written all over it and to be honest I can’t wait).
Another video showing ROH Champion Jay Lethal, Marty Scurll & Matt Taven in the ring discussing who should be the next contender for the ROH Championship. Both men have legitimate claims to be Number 1 contender, so the champ obliged both of them, but the Triple Threat Match offered wasn’t a sweet enough deal for either challenge to accept. Lethal reminisced about another classic match that happened in the fabled MSG and offered (in my opinion the best possible solution) a Triple Threat Ladder Match, this match will shorten all 3 men’s careers and quite possibly could be one of the great ROH Title matches, we can only wait and see.
ROH TV champion Jeff Cobb cut a promo backstage about his upcoming match at G1 Supercard VS NEVER Openweight Champion Will Ospreay, on paper this should be a walk in the park for Cobb, but recently I have seen more of a killer instinct from Ospreay and it could lead to an upset at G1, Cobb must not take the smaller Ospreay lightly if he is to seize both belts (my pick for match of the night).
Kelly Klein got rather emotional in a promo about her history with Mayu Iwatani, having both scored 2 victories over each other. Klein admits to taking the current WOH lightly in their past 2 encounters and has vowed to show the world at G1 Supercard, in the rubber match, who the best woman wrestler in ROH really is.

6 Man Tag Team Match for the ROH 6 Man Tag Team Titles
Villain Enterprises (Marty Scurll, PCO & Brody King) VS The Kingdom ( Matt Taven , TK O’Ryan & Vinny Marseglia)
This match was all over the place to begin with, the crowd loving whatever crazy thing PCO did including Cannonballs to the outside & a Package Piledriver to TK O’Ryan.
Scurll was, for the majority of the match, the object of The Kingdom’s punishment having isolated him for his teammates, but once he got either Brody King OR PCO in the match, all hell broke loose and not to the advantage of VIllain Enterprises has PCO took a horrific looking Powerbomb onto the steel ramp.
The Kingdom though they had the victory when they hit their team finish ‘ Rockstar Supernova’ (Powerbomb/Double Zig Zag Combo) but to no avail. After a miscommunication by O’Ryan and Marseglia , Scurll locked on the dreaded Crossface Chickenwing on O’Ryan who tapped out.
Winner and NEW ROH 6 Man Tag Team Champions – Villain Enterprises in 12:34
Matt Taven was in shock at the loss ( #maybe a sign of things to come)
Villain Enterprises dripping in gold on the run up to G1 Supercard and Marty Scurll’s confidence has got to be sky high following this victory.
To close the show there was another video showing Jay Lethal ,Marty Scurll , Dalton Castle, The Briscoes & Matt Taven , and how wrestling at Madison Square Garden is such a big thing to them (and so it should be), I’ve followed ROH for a while now and to see them at MSG is a testament to how much the company has grown and the talent they have and have had over the years (Rollins, Bryan, Samoa Joe & CM Punk to name a few) and if the recent TV shows And PPV’s are anything to go by then the G1 Supercard may just be one of the best wrestling shows of the year.
Happy Reading everyone , Next stop G1 Supercard ( Live Reaction Video by yours truly as it happens on Twitter NO SPOILERS GUARANTEED )
