Oliver Sudden def. Fletcher Law

The evening kicked off with this lively opener between fan favourite Ollie Sudden and the first of many debutants Fletcher Law, who on entrance alone made a big impact. Fletcher in his first appearance showed great confidence and ring ability, Ollie got the upper hand early on but Fletcher held his own and fought well. The size difference and experience of Sudden gave him the advantage, Fletcher performed well showing great ability but also still keeping in line with his character. Ollie as always got the atmosphere going, his spirited efforts were well received by all, nice match with Sudden getting the win over a impressive Fletcher Law.

Flynn Burden def. Carlos Vega

The second contest of the evening pitted ‘Lost Boy’ Flynn Burden against the plucky Carlos Vega, I was again very impressed by another talented duo from Dragon Pro. The match was laid out very well, the power and size game from Flynn often won out, however Carlos was very lively and took what opportunities came to him. Flynn has huge potential, he has a great look, character and works a very methodical pace in the ring which suits him, if you want a comparison think of Bray Wyatt when he first debut in NXT. Carlos very much the Junior Heavyweight provided the perfect opponent for Flynn, he played the underdog as it fit his character, against someone like Matt Horgan or Jay Jewell he could really impress and exhibit his full repertoire. Nice match, lots of potential from both.

Chris Brookes def. Sierra Loxton

Arguably the best wrestling contest of the evening, both Sierra and Brookes didn’t hold back, the match was fast and fluid and very hard hitting. Sierra looked very good here, she held her own and looked accomplished in ring, Brookes as always was crisp, I personally think he is an underrated wrestler who deserves more recognition for his skills. The match built very well, the momentum tipped back and forth with both controlling the contest at different points. This was a very physical affair, Brookes rocked Sierra with a stiff chop that left the audience wincing! Loxton rallied and held her own, the match quality was excellent, she countered Brookes with a nice German Suplex late on. The near falls raised the atmosphere, the result was up in the air before Brookes hit Sierra with a Double Underhook Piledriver for the victory.

It was then time for another debut, which came in the form of CYRK – Wrestling’s Greatest Show, the group consists of Mil Martinez Jnr, Alexander the lovely Harri Golightly. They had already interrupted Wild Boar, they then went on to introduce themselves to all in attendance, Ms Golightly is quite the talker, boasting supreme confidence and a great look she was flawless in her delivery. Martinez Jnr and Alexander also made themselves known, each showing off their character’s attributes they very much made the perfect debut. They made threats to Boar, with the intention being his current Tag Team Title, Boar stood tall before Danny Jones came to defend the Dragon Pro Head Trainer. Although they didn’t wrestle, CYRK were marvellous and left a lasting impression, with a mouthpiece Golightly and as long as they back it up in the ring this team will make a long-lasting impression.

Erik Von-Lovegun def. Brendan White

It was nice to see Brendan back in action, unfortunately this wasn’t the best return to action at Dragon Pro, this was due to the effort of debutant Erik Von-Lovegun who worked over Brendan and kept him down. Brendan controlled the opening moments of the match before Erik targeted the knee of his opponent, he continued the assault and never gave up. Brendan attempted to rally and force a comeback but Lovegun was unrelenting. After some big matches this year this was surely a letdown for Brendan, who will look to improve in his next outing, good tidy match with Erik Von-Lovegun making a statement.

Jay Jewell def. Malik

This was a stiff contest to say the least, Jewell and Malik took the fight to one another, Jay has been building a nice reputation for himself and Malik impressed on his Dragon Pro debut. Jay Jewell has really improved over the last year, he has really put the work in and it shows, his striking ability and array of submissions is impressive. Malik held his own and in turn this was a very competitive match, Jay showed a great ability to wriggle out of any situation and reverse many moves to his advantage. The audience were invested in this match, the action was good and slick, with both having the opportunity to exhibit their skill set. Jay again worked the situation to his advantage to choke out Mailk for the win.

Rickey Shane Page, Nico Angelo, Shay Fu & Beano def. Nothing to Prove (Eddie Dennis, Elijah, LK Mezinger & Drew Parker) This was the perfect way to end the evening, a fun filled, action packed main event featuring some of the hottest prospects at Dragon Pro. The audience were involved from the start, they joined in with Shay Fu’s entrance theme, then applauded everything that happened. The match was fun, everyone had their moment and was allowed to shine, big names Eddie Dennis and Rickey Shane Page really stood out. The referee attempted to keep order but it just wasn’t possible, Eddie Dennis again stands alone as arguably the most improved wrestler over the last year, his heel character is fantastic and needs to be seen. Everyone worked well, the match was fast, fluid and full of action, Rickey Shane Page did little but made a huge impact, this man knows his character and does everything with meaning and shines when he needs to, there is no wasted moment. Beano continues to evolve into a very talented wrestler, a few more years of maturing and this man will be a very lucrative name. Nico Angelo also impressed, as well as LK, Elijah and Drew Parker who I think can become one of the biggest names in British Wrestling. I also have to mention RSP tossing Drew about 10ft in the air from the outside to inside the ring, cracking match with Shay delivering his One Inch Punch to score the victory.
