205 began as it usually does with Mr Maverick giving us the run down for what’s to come, which is actually quite enjoyable.
Have I mentioned just how much I love this announce team before? Because I do. McGuiness, Joseph and Jackson work so well together!
Buddy Murphy vs Gran Metalik
As soon as Murphy’s music hit, I knew it was time for an amazing match and an amazing match is what we got! Not quite the 205 classic that Nese and Metalik was last week, but this was a fantastic show from both dudes. Crazy heavy shots and spots but a little more condensed than last week’s opener. Buddy Murphy won via a cheap shot into Murphy’s Law. He cut a little promo after hyping his match for Super Showdown. Yeah, good match. Cannot complain.
Backstage
Mustafa Ali had a funny little segment with Cedric Alexander and Akira Tozawa. Made me laugh, so Yeah! Good.
Mustafa Ali vs Jobber
Before the match, Hideo Itami came out to watch the match and cut a quick and creepy promo.
The match was quick and focused on Ali constantly looking back at Hideo during this fast paced squash match. 054 splash finished it. That move makes me feel so anxious every time he does it, It’s a beautiful move, but I just can’t help but envision him smashing his face on the turnbuckle, but it’s yet to happen so that’s a positive!
Promo type thing
Noam Dar and Lio Rush exchange words via video messages. Next week is their match. It’ll be a good one!
Cedric Alexander & Akira Tozawa vs Drew Gulak & Jack Galagher
The match unfortunately felt pretty slow and not anywhere near as technically sound as the other matches they usually put on for the main event.
Still, the match was good though. I enjoyed it more for the story aspect between Gulak and Alexander. They have cemented their feud and after Gulak and Galagher got the win via submission, Drake Maverick made a match for next week. It’ll be Drew Gulak vs Cedric Alexander for the WWE Crusierweight Championship! Next week should be off the chain!
Conclusion
8.5/10 🌟
The show delivered it’s weekly dose of astonishing feats and kick ass matchups, even in the main event was slower that their usual pace. I love 205 Live and it continues to get better and better. I only hope the crowds continue to grow and continue their support in terms of volume. Next week we are getting Noam Dar vs Lio Rush and Gulak vs Alexander for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and I cannot wait for that!
Match of the Night: Buddy Murphy vs Gran Metalik. Not as great as the Nese and Metalik showdown from last week, but still awesome. It was almost like a New Japan style of match, just a lot more condensed.
Performer of the Night: Akira Tozawa. He was insane in his match and had all the best spots in the match too. The thing I like most about Tozawa is that the guy has something so naturally comedic about him that it makes it so easy to like him and want to see more of him. From his ‘HA! HA! HA!” thing to his “You’re fired!” skits and his hilarious antics backstage, he’s just solid gold for the 205 roster.
Thats that! Nice dose of 205 Live. Thanks for stopping by to have a butcher’s at my thoughts. Please feel free to comment, like and share and make sure to Too Sweet that follow button on the Twitter machine @KayfabeToday. Peace and love to one and all! ✌🏻💚
